Can you help me find something to make my dried hair softer?

hokay, so about a year an a half ago i fried my hair using an at home hair relaxer (please do dont attempt i cried for day) iv tried all kinds of things to get my hair back to "normal"....everything from mayo to eggs to oils to main-n-tail shampoo(friend said it would work)..and my hair still feels sorta dry..is there something that i can do or buy to help..?and if i have to buy it please dont tell me something that will make my hair silk but also costs 50$ for an 8oz. bottle.....i will call you a dream killer and my heart will sink into a sea of sadness with your taunts of silkyness. please make my heart smile! :)
